Our 100% pure new wool blankets and throws are meticulously crafted at the historic Kerry Woollen Mills in Beaufort, Killarney. Our family-run mill has been perfecting the art of wool manufacturing for generations. From washed fleece to the finished product. We carry out every step of the process with precision and care.
The Crafting Process.
1. Dyeing: We start by dyeing the raw wool fleece to achieve vibrant, natural colours.
2. Blending and Carding: The dyed fleece is then blended and carded, preparing it for spinning.
3. Spinning: The wool is spun into yarn, ready to be woven into cloth.
4. Weaving: We design and weave the blanket cloth, ensuring durability and beauty.
5. Finishing: Finally, the cloth is washed and the nap is raised, enhancing the softness and warmth of the blankets.
